I have written a guide for installing it on windows that is available here

Want to install Booksonic in the cloud?

I recommend renting a VPS from Interserver or Contabo and installing booksonic there.
Use coupon code BOOKSONIC on Interserver to get the first month for just 1 cent.

OBS! These are referral links, that means that I (Booksonic dev) will be receiving a small amount of money if you click on them and buy anything. While that is the case I will only ever recommend VPS providers that I am personally using and can vouch for.

If you have created a guide/tutorial about how to install Booksonic let me know at support@booksonic.org and I'll most likely add it to the page

Adding meta data for your books and authors

If your language has "special characters" I recommend using a text editor that let's you choose encoding and setting it to UTF-8. Personally I use Notepad++ for this.

Book / Author image: Put your image in the folder of your book / author and name it cover. I recommend using png or jpg files.

Book / Author description: Create a new file in the folder of the book / author that you want to add a description to. Call it "desc.txt". Anything you write in this file will be in the description.

Narrator: Create a new file in the folder of the book you want to add a narrator to. Call it "reader.txt". Anything you write in this file will shown as narrator.
